Hypnotherapy is one of these two things, I will let you decide which is true;

A form of complementary therapy using the power of positive suggestion to create subconscious change to self.

How it works;

Your conscious mind is what allows you to make your day to day decisions. For example; jeans or slacks? walk or drive? … It makes your logical & analytical decisions. Your subconscious mind (sometimes called unconscious mind) is what makes your automatic actions. For example; breathing, blinking and the beating of your heart. This is where your emotions, perceptions, beliefs & habits live after they are developed with the use of your conscious mind.  During hypnosis we relax your conscious mind, to work with your subconscious mind. You are not asleep. You cannot be forced to do something you don’t want to do. The suggestions may be accepted only if those suggestions are acceptable to the hypnotised person. You cannot be forced into a hypnotic state either, instead, you allow yourself to be hypnotised.

You do have complete control.

Working with the unconscious mind we can use your beliefs, perceptions, emotions, habits & body in a constructive manner that will begin to make the changes you desire.

One of the most common misconceptions about hypnosis is that you are unconscious.

In fact in hypnosis, you are aware and can hear clearly, you can move if you chose or if it was necessary, but you would prefer to remain relaxed.

You are in a state of increased awareness, your hearing may be sharper, you may feel subtler sensations and your imagination and memory are enhanced.

Hypnosis is a state in which you can think clearly and your imagination is active, when beneficial ideas can, more quickly and easily, gain access to the subconscious mind and change it in a way that is aligned with your desired outcome!
